Guardrails and Growth: What to Think About When Thinking
About Generative Artificial Intelligence Policies
Join us on March 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST to hear about why your organization should have a generative AI policy.
Organizations are increasingly worried about how their employees use and misuse generative artificial intelligence and how their customers might react to generative AI. On one hand, company leaders don’t want their organizations exposed to the well-publicized dangers of poorly used generative AI (loss of confidential information, libelous statements, unprotected intellectual property, etc.). On the other hand, AI holds the potential for cost savings and the development of new revenue streams if employees and customers use it properly.
In this online seminar, we will discuss key considerations in drafting and implementing internal
generative AI policies, including:
· Developing an organizational strategy for AI deployment
· Risks to remember when preparing a generative AI policy
· Seeking input from stakeholders
· Drafting a policy, or revising existing policies
· Training staff on the policy
· Vetting vendors for compliance with the policy
This is a free online seminar. 1 CPE will be earned by participating.
Our presenter for this online seminar is John Frank Weaver. John is chair of McLane Middleton’s Artificial Intelligence Practice Group and a leading voice in the AI bar. His practice includes conducting risk assessments of AI systems, advising clients concerning AI policies and best practices, and counseling clients regarding emerging legal and practical issues in AI. John is the vice chair of the steering committee for the American Bar Association’s Artificial Intelligence & Robotics National Institute. He recently chaired artificial intelligence conferences at the Boston Bar Association and Massachusetts Continue Legal Education. He is the author of Robots Are People Too: How Siri, Google Car, and Artificial Intelligence Will Force Us to Change Our Laws, a contributing writer at Slate focusing on legal issues implicated by AI and autonomous devices, and a member of the board of editors of The Journal of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence & Law.
