Professional Designations: What You Need to Know

When:  Feb 16, 2022 from 06:00 PM to 07:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  New Hampshire Chapter

Join us on Wednesday, February 16th starting at 6pm for a discussion of professional designations earned by accountants.

This event is open to students or professionals who are interested in learning what the credentials can do for their career.

The Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a US credential for licensed accounting professionals committed to protecting the public interest. Accountants with the CPA designation offer financial statement audits and other attestation services to help inform investors about the financial health of organizations.

The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a globally recognized professional credential focusing on management accounting and corporate performance.  CMAs not only know how to prepare corporate financial reports but also how to explain the story behind the numbers.  According to the IMA's 2019 US Salary Survey, CMAs earn 55% more in the U.S. than professionals without a designation.

Joining us for the evening will be Mallory Vincent, CPA and Dr. Cathy Duffy.

Mallory is a Certified Public Accountant employed at Mason + Rich, P.A., a public accounting firm in Concord, NH. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Master’s of Business Administration at Southern New Hampshire University. She lives in Loudon, NH with her husband and pet rabbit and is currently expecting her first child. She enjoys riding her ATV, hiking, and downhill skiing.

Dr. Cathy Duffy is an Associate Professor in the Stiller School of Business at Champlain College.  Cathy earned her Doctorate in Education Leadership from California Lutheran University and a Masters in Taxation from DePaul University in Chicago. She also earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California. Cathy earned her CMA designation in 2021 and is excited to share her experience.
