IMA-NH June Ethics Webinar

Registration for this webinar is closed.  We have reached capacity.

Join us for our annual NH ethics seminar. If you enjoyed the ethics discussions we have had the past few years, you will enjoy this discussion too.  The SNHU Graduate Accounting Situational Ethics class will be joining us.

We will be discussing two topics this evening:

Topic 1 –
Should crypto-currencies be accepted by businesses as payment for goods and services?

Various ethical concerns related to security, economic stability, and energy consumption come into play with crypto-currencies.

Topic 2 – What are the ethical responsibilities of businesses receiving government stimulus during a pandemic?

Many corporations have struggled during this pandemic. The economic fallout has affected
millions of workers and their families. While government stimulus to companies was intended
to provide economic relief, some corporations engaged in questionable actions. This topic will
examine the ethical considerations related to recipients of government stimulus.

Our presenter and facilitator for the event will be Professor Joshua Becker. He is the Information Literacy and Assessment Librarian, and an Associate Professor, at Southern New Hampshire University. Professor Becker is the Christos and Mary Papoutsy Distinguished Chair in Leadership Ethics. He holds an MSLIS from the University of Illinois and an MAT in English Education from Boston University. His research interests include Information Ethics, Assessment, and Universal Design.

This webinar is free. The number of registrants will be limited to allow for discussion groups on Zoom.
